I know it’s been a while but …

I am innocent!!!

I know it’s been a while but it isn’t for the lack of trying. You see, I’ve been a bit preoccupied and he is completely useless at the moment. I suppose I should explain. Before I do, I want this on record, it wasn’t my fault!!! You see, it’s like this … they have decided to put the house on the market, so it’s all their fault really. Apparently they want to be mortgage free – I have no idea what that means but apparently they have to sell the house in order to achieve it. So, recently it has had to be uber clean (not really my thing!) so that other people can come and look at the house. So, one morning a couple of weeks ago, they had decided to go and look at some other houses that don’t cost quite so much. Before we went, I popped into the garden and discovered that the watering system had just finished watering the vegetables. It was just too tempting, so I jumped into the vegetable bed and dug them up. When I had had a good old dig and killed most of those disgusting vegetables, I made my way back into the kitchen and wandered around the kitchen and hallway. It turned out that, whilst we were out, someone was going to view the house and apparently my very muddy footprints were not what was needed! Daddy Richard told him to put my lead on and take me out to the front of the house and wait for Daddy Richard who was going to quickly wash the floors. We went outside and I had a little sniff around. We saw Fraser (we know Fraser because he painted our house a few years ago!) and had a little chat. Then, he heard Daddy Richard coming out of the house so he opened the boot of the car thingy ready for me to get in. Frankly, I had other ideas and, as he was looking at the boot, I yanked him the other way. What happened next is nothing to do with me!!! He blames me, of course he does, but that’s only to be expected. I get the blame for everything! What actually happened was that he fell over. It is hardly my fault that he was off balance and still attached to my lead, is it?! When I say he fell over, that’s not really a good description … he properly face planted himself in the drive! He broke his glasses, grazed his nose, cheek, lip, chin, shoulder, knee and ankle. He broke his shoe and … and I want this on record that it has nothing to do with me … apparently fractured his wrist. To be perfectly honest he didn’t find this out until the Monday afterwards (it happened on Saturday) when he decided to go and visit the MIU (minor injuries unit) because the swelling wasn’t going down.

By necessity this is going to be a short Glog, largely because he can’t type and, in this weather, I can’t be bothered. I have to say that I do find it quite amusing watching whilst Daddy Richard has to cut up his food for him, although I don’t let on! You see, it his right wrist that is damaged and he is right handed. He can’t type (well, he can but it is very slow and a bit painful), he can’t write, he can’t use a knife and don’t even ask about wiping his bottom! In this current heat wave he is really enjoying having a warming splint on his wrist too! Actually I am struggling a bit in this warm weather. Having a great bit fur coat is not ideal. I’ll bet my Auntie Jo is hating it too! She hates hot weather and counts down the days to winter! I’m doing a lot of panting to try and keep cool. There’s loads of fresh water for me, both in the kitchen and outside, and I have a paddling pool and a cool mat (although frankly that doesn’t work). I’m only having one walk a day, before the heat gets up, but we are playing some mind stimulation games which are really tiring. I promise I will write a longer Glog just as soon as I can but, for now, it’s just too flamin’ hot so, must paws … 🐾
